3 HUGE LinkedIn Approaches To Implement Today

LinkedIn certainly comes with many winding, twisting and turning roads. Let’s just tackle a few of the strategies of the platform – one at a time.

Three must-haves you can get started on today!

Go incognito (private mode) without the 8 clicks it usually takes.

Did you know with one simple Chrome extension you can have a toggle switch right on your profile that allows you to in ONE switch go into private mode and then back to public mode?  Sure, we all have our different reasons for viewing someone’s profile without them knowing we’ve viewed but you can do it without going into settings, scrolling down, and another click …..clicking here, there and everywhere. What a time suck!

Here’s how:
1. Go to https://lnkd.in/d_RUNHP
2. Add Chrome extension
3. Close Chrome, restart Chrome
4. You’ll see the toggle top right of your page

Most people use 3 different types of headlines on LinkedIn

  1. Single job description:  V.P. of Marketing
  2. M𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢-𝐣𝐨𝐛 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: V.P. of Marketing I Communications I Strategic Branding I Business Development
  3. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐚𝐧 description: ‘Helping corporate brands reach their ideal customers through strategic marketing and communications.’

I like the mix of each. Here’s how mine shows:

Which one do you currently have? Hope this starts you thinking of how you can best utilize the 120 characters allowed for your LinkedIn headline. Think about how can you show in the most impactful way. Do you prefer to be completely professional or maybe a bit clever funny?  It’s suggested to work it out in your favorite word processing program. Play with it a few days or a week until something comes up that resonates to you, who your intended audience is and how you can lead the viewer to want to read the rest of your profile.

  LinkedIn’s Mobile App Voice Messaging

Are you using up precious time just messaging prospects on LinkedIn? LinkedIn’s (nearly new) voice messaging feature lets you send voice recordings up to one minute long through the LinkedIn mobile app.

A Scenario:

You’re on your way to landing the sales phone call but not quite there yet. You may not even have a phone number yet to just call.  Your voice recorded creates a trust-bonding step toward closing a sale, right? A foot in the door to break away from the monotony of ‘just messaging.’

Will you commit to ending the ‘messaging cycle’ and use your voice to close the deal?

Below shows where to find the recorder mic within the LinkedIn Mobile App.:

LinkedIn is certainly an amazing resource for B2B lead generation. Learning all the potential of using the platform can be overwhelming. I say when you first learn of a new ‘nugget’ for sales success on the platform – note it, implement it and make it a part of your sales routine. However, limit yourself to employing just a few new strategies each week. Once you begin using the new strategy and it becomes routine then begin fresh and learn and implement a few more.

Little by little, you’ll soon be mastering the platform and bringing greater success to your business.
